In parts of rural Asia self-poisoning using agricultural pesticides is a serious issue. It has been estimated that up to 89% of all suicides from pesticide self-poisoning worldwide occur in the Asian and Western Pacific regions, and pesticide ingestion is recognised by the World Health Organization (WHO)

We are pleased to announce that a Lister Institute research prize fellow Professor Sherif El-Khamisy has led a paper that was recently published in the prestigious Nature Neuroscience.

Professor Sir Alec Jeffreys has been made a Companion of Honour in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours 2017.
