26 Jul Update on Lister summer studentships
Every year at the Lister Institute we award a number of studentships to help support the biomedical scientists of the future.
We provide funding to Fellows and former Fellows to cover the costs associated with a student working at their laboratory during the summer holiday period.
In order to celebrate its 75th anniversary, this year we launched a number of joint studentships with the Microbiology Society.
This year a total of 5 joint studentships were awarded, 2 of which are going ahead this year. Unfortunately the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has led to 3 of these being unavoidably postponed to 2021. On another positive note we have a further 9 Lister funded Studentships going ahead this year, most of which are being conducted remotely.
We are pleased to have been able to support some students despite the widespread effects of the pandemic and very pleased that researchers have consented to postpone the placements rather than cancel.
2021 studentship applications
Any current or former Fellow of the Lister Institute is eligible to apply. The Institute will be in touch with all Fellows and Former Fellows towards the end of this year to inform you when you can register your interest.
