27 Jun EMBO rewards the work of three Lister Fellows
We are very pleased to announce that three Lister fellows have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to biomedical research by EMBO.
EMBO is an organization of more than 1800 leading researchers who work together to promote excellence in the life sciences in Europe and around the world.
EMBO supports talented researchers at all career stages through a variety of communication channels and by recognising outstanding scientists in regular awards.
M. Madan Babu wins EMBO Gold Medal
Lister Fellow M. Madan Babu is co-recipient of the EMBO Gold Medal 2019 along with Paola Picotti.
The Gold Medal recognizes the exceptional achievements of selected life scientists under the age of 40 in Europe.
Madan Babu leads the Regulatory Genomics and Systems Biology programme at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, UK. He was named Life Sciences Laureate at the inaugural 2018 Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in the United Kingdom and received the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) Innovator Award in 2018.
Tom Baden and Yanlan Mao receive Young Investigator awards
EMBO has awarded twenty-six aspiring new researchers with Young Investigators awards.
This prestigious award recognises the achievements of early-career biomedical scientists, enabling them to join an active network of over 400 other Young Investigators and offering them support from EMBO during the foundation of their first independent laboratory.
Lister Institute Fellows Tom Baden and Yanlan Mao have both been awarded this year in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the field.
